David Cohen is the Head of Player Relations of the Alliance of American football, a sports technology startup that begins play on February 9. In his role, he oversees off-field matters for players on all eight Alliance teams. Prior to joining the Alliance, Cohen spent over five years as a C-Level executive for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and oversaw human resources, legal, insurance, benefits, player relations, and security. During his tenure, he initiated programs that reduced turnover by 55%. Before the Buccaneers, Cohen spent nine years in the front office with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and nine years as a minor league athletic trainer with the Baltimore Orioles, Montreal Expos, and Boston Red Sox. He earned a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and Athletic Training and M.S. in Community Health from West Virginia University and a J.D. from California Western School of Law. Cohen is a member of the State Bar of California, a Certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, and Florida Authorized House Counsel. He and his wife Audria have a 9 year old son (Ethan) and proudly live in the Tampa Bay area.
