Kristin Joys is the Director of the  Social Impact & Sustainability Initiative in the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center in the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. Kristin has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on Social Entrepreneurship at UF since 2005; in 2013 she created and launched a new course, "Innovation & Sustainability: Business Doing Good," focused on certified B Corporations & impact investing. Her interests center around social entrepreneurship, sustainability, responsible business (CSR), collective impact, measuring social progress, community engagement, transformative action, and positive psychology. She believes in leveraging the power of business to make a positive impact on people, planet, and prosperity.

After finishing her Ph.D. in 2003 and earning a Postdoc in Marketing & Management from UF in 2013, Kristin earned a certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from the INSEAD School of Business in France and in 2014 she was awarded a scholarship to attend the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, earning an executive certificate in Social Entrepreneurship. Most recently, in October 2018 she graduated from the Strategic Communications Academy for UF Leaders & Scholars where she learned & practiced the power of storytelling to engage influentials (policy-makers, funders, and the media).

From 2007 - 2016 Kristin founded & directed the  Young Entrepreneurs for Leadership & Sustainability High School Summer Program at UF, the only summer program in the US where college bound high school students learned and practiced the skills of successful business and community leaders, while being inspired to solve social, environmental, and economic problems. In January 2016 the program received the United States Association of Small Business & Entrepreneurship Education (USASBE) Specialty Entrepreneurship Education Program Award, the highest honor for an entrepreneurship education program and a once-in-a-lifetime accomplishment for the impacts created by the program over it’s 10 year run.

In addition to creating opportunities for students to learn about social entrepreneurship at UF, Kristin  consults with local businesses & non-profits, helping them to align their values around sustainability & social responsibility with their practices to increase their positive impact in our community. As a 6th generation Floridian, Kristin is especially invested in empowering consumers to support their local communities and engage with local businesses and organizations that are doing good in the world; to this end, she serves as the Director of Academic Partnerships to  Florida for Good. She also loves  helping changemakers find & create impact careers through her work as a  consultant with do good well. F
